What’s the message of Modern Dance today – in 2011?

 　I think the mission of Modern Dance today is over but it still be used to discover new things by taking lessons from the past.

   For example, in Japan today’s situation may be similar with the time when Takaya Eguchi who tried to give hope to regenerate Japanese society was after the end of World War Ⅱ, because Japan had disaster of earthquake and radiation.

   There might be need to give new hope or vision again with the power of art, music, dance and novels.

About dancing for all, it may already be an old style to make group dancing like in the period of the Nazis or in North Korea.

I imagine dancing people needs new way of dancing together for celebration or something like a group named “Earth Dance” to pray for peace.

  Another message of Modern Dance what I think is dancing identity from history.

In Japan, there are many kinds of dance styles not only Japanese folk dance also western dance like the beginning of Modern dance style which is lost in the countries of origin.

It implanted the dance gene in my body movement, because of my training in childhood.

Each stream of dance history which influenced dance teachers and choreographers is being explained, but there are still unclear parts of Modern dance like creation method or etc.

That’s a reason I have been studying Modern Dance I learned from Takaya Eguchi.
